Understand deductibles, actual cash value and recoverable depreciation while keeping the physical roof work separate from the insurer's decision.
A roof claim can involve more than one payment and more than one kind of estimate. Start with what the policy covers, the deductible and its payment basis, while the contractor establishes the actual construction work. General claim vocabulary helps explain the conversation, but the policy and insurer control coverage and payment.

An inspection describes physical roof conditions. The insurer applies the policy to the claim.
The deductible is the part of a covered loss assigned to the policyholder under the policy. Wind or hail can have its own deductible structure. The actual policy controls.
An ACV payment reflects the covered amount after the policy's depreciation treatment and deductible. It is different from a complete replacement-cost payment.
Some replacement-cost policies allow an additional payment when policy conditions are met after covered repair or replacement. Timing, documentation and limits follow the policy; recovery is not automatic.
Insurance figures do not eliminate the need to identify the work.
Materials, removal, flashings, decking changes and the contractor's terms belong in the project scope. An insurer's estimate and a construction contract are different documents.
Exclusions, wear, deadlines and payment disagreements go to the insurer or appropriate professional. This service does not promise claim approval, adjust the claim or waive a deductible.
Use the state consumer guidance and your actual policy for claim questions.
