EPDM Roofing in Spring Hill, KS
Plan rubber membrane repairs and replacement with seams, flashings and compatible materials in view.
EPDM seams need rubber-system repair methods
EPDM is a rubber single-ply roof membrane. Seams, tape or adhesive connections and perimeter terminations need materials and preparation compatible with the existing roof. It is not repaired by treating it as a heat-welded thermoplastic sheet.
A small split or loose flashing can be localized, but the condition of the membrane, insulation and attachment establishes where repair can stop. Oil contamination, incompatible coatings and badly weathered surfaces can affect the work needed to make a sound connection.

Seams, edges and roof-mounted equipment
The condition of each connection guides its repair.
- Lap seams
A separated lap needs the adjoining material assessed and prepared with the specified cleaning, primer and repair method. Covering dirt or loose edges leaves an unreliable bond.
- Flashings and terminations
Curbs, pipes and perimeter edges interrupt the rubber sheet. Movement and the transition to the wall or metal edge need compatible details.
- Wet insulation
A surface repair does not remove moisture beneath the membrane. Wet layers can require a wider opening and replacement scope.
Keep the next roof decision specific
A rubber membrane is not automatically a coating candidate.
- Repairable assembly
A dry stable roof and sound repair boundary support localized work.
- Restoration limits
Adhesion, substrate condition and compatibility need to be established before a coating is selected. Repeated failures or wet layers may support replacement.
